Preschool Program

Saint Bridget School offers a nurturing and faith-filled program for students who will be 3 or 4 years of age by September 1st of the current school year.  Curriculum areas such as religion, math, literature, social studies, language development, science, art, and music are integrated around thematic units and children's literature.

Fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, we offer an age-appropriate early childhood educational curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment. Curriculum content and teaching strategies respect the individuality of each learner as well as the promotion of a hands-on program that uses learning centers as a means for active learning.

Faith Formation

  • A spiritual relationship with God
  • A caring attitude towards others
  • A deep respect for all that God has created
  • Participation in prayer

Social Skills

  • Participation in large and small group activities
  • Respect and empathy for peers and teachers
  • Use of appropriate language and expression of emotions and feelings
  • Recognizing similarities and differences in people
  • Interacting cooperatively with peers and learning to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to transition and follow rules
  • Ability to speak clearly and use complex sentences and vocabulary
  • Interest in stories and book knowledge

Physical Activity

  • Coordination of large muscle movements
  • Movement through classroom environment with control
  • Coordination of small muscle movements
  • Caring for self independently

Cognitive Development

  • Use of various strategies for solving problems
  • Sorting objects; comparing; shapes, colors, patterns; recognizing and printing name; recognition and writing of upper- and lower-case letters and numbers

Creative Expression

  • Building, construction, drawing, and painting
  • Imaginative play
  • Participating in musical experiences
