Drama Club (Grades K-8)
Lights! Cameras! Action!
Your student will have the opportunity to perform songs, learn choreographed dances, and portray a character on stage. Grades K-3 have the chance to be in the ensemble which performs each group number. Grades 4-8 have the opportunity to audition for an experience having a lead role in a show. Often we will have multiple students with the same main role so each can be the lead during one of the 3 shows. These students join in the ensemble when they are not their main character.
Each year our students work hard to perform a musical with 3 different casts. While practicing for these shows, our students learn important skills such as memorization, projecting one's voice, speaking in front of a group, social skills, and leadership. It has been proven that these skills and experiences improve math and science scores in the classroom. Families are seeking out Saint Bridget School because of this wonderful program. As the largest extracurricular after-school group, we want to continue to offer an environment that is welcoming and challenging, providing an unforgettable experience. Year after year, our students join Drama Club to have fun while growing their friendships and excelling in academics.
Leadership Team (Grades 7 & 8)
Saint Bridget School 7th and 8th graders who have participated in at least 1 year of Drama Club may apply to be a part of our leadership team. These students work to perfect choreography and mentor the younger performers. These students also prepare posters, thank you notes for sponsors, and fundraising opportunities. The tasks they work on provide them with more insight into what it takes to run a show. The Leadership Team experience is designed to help our older performers develop their knowledge in preparation for their transition into high school.
Disney - Imagination Campus Trip (Grades 6 - 8)
Summer 2025 our Drama Club took 45 members of the Saint Bridget School community including 19 drama students, to participate in Walt Disney World’s Imagination Campus. While in Orlando our students participated in 3 workshops focusing on teamwork, choreography, impact of tone of voice and movement, and story telling with music. The overall experience is one that our students can use in many areas of their day-to-day life outside of our Theater Program. Our hope is to continue this opportunity every 2-3 years. To be eligible to attend the students must have been in the drama club for at least 1 year and agree to participate in the upcoming school year’s performances. For the trip, there must be a minimum of 17 students willing to travel with at least one parent/guardian. The Theater Program will put together chances for fundraising to make this more affordable for families to attend this amazing opportunity. This is an experience unlike any other. More information to come as we plan our next trip! (Note: may also include grades 4 & 5 with Disney’s approval).
